RECHS Signature School

Randolph Early College High School (RECHS) continues to serve as a model of excellence in college and career readiness by empowering students to maximize their unique potential through a personalized and engaging academic experience. Located on the campus of Randolph Community College (RCC), RECHS is a collaborative partnership between the Randolph County School System and RCC that provides students with the opportunity to earn both a high school diploma and an associate degree at no cost to families. Since its founding in 2005, RECHS has maintained a steadfast commitment to raising expectations and creating higher standards for all students.

Through the partnership with Randolph Community College, students begin taking college courses in ninth grade. Each student follows an individualized pathway designed to promote academic growth and college readiness, with many earning an associate degree alongside their high school diploma. RECHS has proudly maintained an A school performance grade for consecutive years and has exceeded growth, demonstrating both high achievement and consistent improvement.

Content- and grade-level professional learning communities focus on intentionally embedding the durable skills present in The Portrait of a Raven. The Portrait of a Raven is a framework that defines the durable skills essential for success in college, career, and life. Teams are committed to requiring students to learn, model, and integrate skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, cultural awareness, and self-discipline in each classroom. This intentional focus on skill development ensures that every RECHS graduate is prepared to thrive in an ever-changing world.

The focus on college and career readiness extends to intentional ACT preparation. Each grade level receives ACT preparation throughout their time at RECHS. Every junior participates in a yearlong ACT Prep designed to build skills, confidence, and stamina. In 2024–2025, RECHS students achieved a composite proficiency rate above 95%, underscoring their academic excellence and preparedness for postsecondary success.

RECHS cultivates leadership and service through a variety of student-led initiatives and organizations. Programs such as Peer Mentors, Beta Club, Flight Council, Junior Civitans, Science National Honor Society, and other student organizations provide meaningful opportunities for students to develop leadership, collaboration, and service-oriented mindsets. These experiences align directly with the Portrait of a Raven attributes, reinforcing the school’s mission to empower students as engaged citizens and lifelong learners.

Living by the mantra “Ravens Soar for More! Push for a 94,” RECHS continues to set high standards for achievement and growth. From rigorous coursework and dual enrollment opportunities to leadership development and service learning, every aspect of the RECHS experience is designed to prepare students for success beyond high school. As a proud A-rated school that consistently exceeds growth, Randolph Early College High School exemplifies what is possible when high expectations, personalized support, and community partnerships unite to help students reach their fullest potential.
